TDK Corporation (TSE 6762) announced the addition of adjustable current limit models to the TDK-Lambda brand i7C non isolated DC-DC converter series. The onboard voltage regulator power module has an input voltage range of 9-53 Vdc, and the output voltage can be adjusted from 5-28V, 8-24V, or 9.6-48V based on the rated output current. The topology of i7C can seamlessly switch from buck mode (buck) to boost mode (boost). The "Itrim" output current limiting function supports parallel operation of modules to meet higher power requirements, operate at constant current, or reduce device stress that may occur due to charging large capacitive loads.

The new model is suitable for medical, unmanned moving vehicles (AGVs), autonomous mobile robots (IMRs), drones, industrial, testing, measurement, and battery powered equipment, generating additional high-power DC output from 12, 24, and 48V system voltages.

Up to 97% high efficiency reduces energy loss, allowing products to operate in harsh thermal environments and increasing available power. Under light load conditions, i7C control technology can significantly reduce power loss. Under no-load conditions, the typical input current is only 5mA. When the module output is turned off, the input current can be reduced to around 0.25mA. Low static current allows battery powered devices to maintain functionality for longer periods of time during non operational periods.

The new models include output voltage regulation pins, remote switch (negative logic), output current monitoring, remote sensing (+), input undervoltage, overcurrent, and thermal protection. In addition, the i7C has built-in synchronization function, which can achieve universal operating switching frequency between multiple converters, thereby reducing system noise.

There are three models to choose from: a thin open frame of 34 x 36.8 x 14.7mm (length x width x height), a bottom plate structure for conduction cooling (height 15.5mm), and an integrated heat sink for convection or forced air cooling (height 24.9mm). The i7C series adopts industrial standard 1/16 brick packaging, with pins suitable for on-board installation.

 


All models have passed the safety certification of IEC/UL/CSA/EN 62368-1 standard and comply with the CE and UKCA markings for low voltage and RoHS directives.
